How does a Big Bear 6 hour Challenge event work?
6 hour events at Big Bear Events are great for trying to increase your distance, long and supported training runs or to simply enjoy a day in a forest or park you may have never been to. The idea is super simple. The clock starts at 09:00 (check the event page to confirm the timings) and you keep completing as many laps as you want to (or can!) for the next 6 hours. Generally the course is 3.3 miles (5.3km) meaning a half marathon is 4 laps, a marathon is 8 laps and 9 laps+ is an ultra marathon. However, you obviously do what you want to on the day! You must start your last lap before the 6 hours is up (so you’re finish time could be 6:10 for example) and if you start after 09:00 (if you’re on the school run for example!) that’s fine, but your official time started with everyone else.
