Refund Policy

Hopefully you can see this is fair (and fairer than many larger organisations). Our cancellation policy is not designed to punish you for changes in circumstances but to protect Big Bear Events and allow the company to continue to trade. Large numbers of refunds can destroy cash flow and cripple companies. Despite this we’ve taken the decision to be as lenient as possible. Please email Paul and let him know if you need to act on any of the below making sure to quote the event you are referring to and the action you wish to take.

6 hour and 10K events

As soon as you click enter on an event, Big Bear Events begins to incur costs. It is not possible to get a full refund after you have entered an event, regardless of reason. We will happily transfer your place to a future event or give you a discount code for the entry fee you paid that you can use against a future event or our merchandise.

You can ask for a transfer to another event up to 7 days before the event.

You can transfer to another runner while entries remain open (normally 3-4 days before the event. You can do this on the link in the email you were sent when you registered.

If you want to withdraw from a race and do not wish to transfer your entry or receive a discount code then:

  • More than 6 months before race – 50% cash refund

  • 3-6 months before race – 25% cash refund

  • If there is less than 3 months before an event there will be no monetary refunds.

Weekend Ultra marathons

  • More than 6 months before the event you can have 100% of your entry as a race voucher(s) or you can have a 50% cash refund.

  • 1-6 months from the event you can have 100% of your entry fee as a race voucher(s) but there is no cash refund.

There are no withdrawals or vouchers in the last month before these events.
